Scooby-Doo's creator dies aged 81

BBC News reported that Iwao Takamoto, the U.S. animator who created cartoon dogs Scooby-Doo and Muttley, has died aged 81.

He was also responsible for characters from The Flintstones and The Jetsons when he worked for the Hanna-Barbera studio.

He assisted in the design of films including Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians and Cinderella, during a career spanning more than 60 years.

Mr Takamoto was a vice-president at Warner Bros Animation at the time of his death, caused by heart failure.

He said he created Scooby-Doo after talking to someone who looked after Great Danes.

THE REVENGE PT.2 (True Story CONT...)

There I was lying in the hospital bed all bandaged and stitched up, with the thought of sweet revenge on my mind. I mean my head and face was rapped like a Mummy. At the time, I didn't have medical insurance so they patched me up and sent me home that next morning. All I wanted to do now is go home and rest, see my son Cam (which was only 3 years old at the time) and liked to go with me everywhere.

"Oh, I thank God that he wasn't with me when I got robbed!"

My son's mom brought him over to see me and he started to cry, he didn't reconize me. "Damn that shit hurt!" I kept saying, "Come here daddy's baby"and Cam just looked at me like I know this voice, but I never seen you before.

A few days later, I had a follow up doctor's appointment. The doctor recommended facial bone reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation to get myself back to normal.

Two weeks later, it was time for the surgery and I can remember this like it was yesterday. I remember the doctor saying, "count from 100 backwards."

I started and the next thing I remember was the nurse saying, "Finally your awake sleepy head."

I was again blessed to make it thru the surgery alive. It took about 6 months for me to get back close to normal as I could. Word in the hood was, 'I was dead and didn't make it from the robbery alive.'

" Hmmm! It seems my plans for REVENGE would be even easier if nobody thought I was alive."
